PET WORK WEEK COMMENCING 6TH NOVEMBER

Work was completed in the following areas:

  • wired 17 steps at Acer Close to make them safe during the winter months
  • blew the steps clear of leaves at Acer Close
  • removed a small fly tip at Acer Close
  • pruned the shrub bed at Dawley Bank by the shop
  • removed a fly tip from Arleston Lane
  • repaired the damage caused to the grass verge at Caledonian Way by a car accident
  • Blew leaves from the footpath at the Trundle
  • Removed leaves from the bus stop on Glendale
  • Replaced 2 wind damaged lamppost poppies in Lawley
  • Repaired the vehicle damaged grass verge off Old Park Way
  • Cleaned a number of road signs around the Parish including Princes End, Colliers Way, Gresham Drive and Arleston Lane
  • Removed 3 traffic cones thrown into the hedge off Hunters Rise
  • Reported a large fly tip in woodland off Arleston Lane to TWC for removal
  • Cleared leaves from the bottom of the Wrekin Trundle footpath to the New Works junction
  • Pruned the hedge at the bottom of the Wrekin Trundle to improve the sight line for cars leaving the car park
  • Removed a broken fence panel from the hedge at the bottom of the Wrekin Trundle footpath
  • Cleared leaves from the footpath along the front of St Johns church on Dawley Road
  • Cut back and edged the wildflower bed on the grass area near the Bulls Head pub in Dawley Bank
  • Pruned back wild roses at the top of St Heliers
  • Blew the path clear of leaves through the woods from Park Road to Cemetery Road
  • Removed moss from the footpath at Old Park open space to the pond
  • Cut back the shrub bed at Old Park open space and reformed the edges of the bed
  • Removed a large number of plastic bottles and cans from the pond at Lawley Village Green
  • removed a broken branch from West Centre Way footpath by the footbridge
  • Replaced a dog fouling sticker near Newdale Pool
  • Blew leaves from the footpath from Bartholomew Road to Lawley Village Green
  • Blew leaves from West Centre Way bridge to St Helier
  • Blew leaves from the footpath at Arleston Inn to the M54 bridge
  • Blew leaves from Acer Close steps
  • Removed glass from the parking bays at Cedar Close

PET WORK WEEK COMMENCING 30TH OCTOBER

Work was completed in the following areas:

  • pruned around the Lawley Drive road sign by the M54 roundabout
  • litter picked the Community Garden
  • pruned a large area of shrubs back o ground level on The Rock public open space at the rear of Acer Close
  • pruned brambles back from the steps and footpath near Acer Close
  • Strimmed around the entrance to the bridleway off West Centre Way, raked up the debris and litter picked
  • repaired the fence by the bridleway crossing off West Centre Way
  • removed a large number of catalogues and leaflets from the road at Caledonian Way
  • strimmed the alleyway at Cedar Close, blown clear of leaves and litter picked
  • blown leaves clear of the car park at Cedar Close
  • strimmed the alleyway at Hill Fold, blown clear of leaves and litter picked
  • removed 2 small fly tips from Hill Fold
  • reported an abandoned Dumper truck and water bowser in the field off Arleston Lane, which had been stolen from a nearby building site
  • replaced and painted the 6 rotten bollards on Lawley Village Green
  • removed a fly tip from the verge on Bellpit Road
  • removed a broken fence panel from the grass verge at Old Park Way

PET WORK WEEK COMMENCING 23RD OCTOBER

Work was completed in the following areas:

  • sent a full day lowering the top hedge in the Community Garden by 5ft and removing the debris
  • put up a bird box in the Community Garden
  • sprayed the hedge line and around the trees at the Community Garden
  • sprayed weeds at Glendale Circle
  • sprayed weeds along the wall line at Ercall View
  • mowed the path edges at the Wrekin Trundle
  • mowed around the herb garden, rose bed and path edges at the Community Garden
  • mowed the path on the bridleway at Rock Road
  • mowed around the gate at Bellpit Open Space
  • removed 2 split branches at Bellpit Open Space
  • blew leaves from the footpath and removed broken glass from West Centre Way footbridge at St Helier
  • blew leaves from the footpath and steps at Acer Close
  • blew leaves and removed a large amount of mud and debris from the bus stop and footpath on Rock Road
  • blew leaves from the footpath at Park Road and Cemetery Road
  • cleared leaves from the front of the cemetery at Dawley Bank
  • cleared leaves from the footpaths at Hill Fold
  • Blew the path clear of leaves and debris from the M54 bridge to Arleston Inn
  • blew the path clear of leaves from the rear of Thomas Telford School to the traffic lights
  • pruned overhanging ivy from the cemetery wall to Hill Fold alleyway

PET WORK WEEK COMMENCING 16TH OCTOBER

The PET spent the first 3 days of this week putting up over 300 Remembrance Poppies on lampposts across the Parish.

In addition work was completed in the following areas:

  • pruned an overhanging rose from the footpath by Lawley Primary School
  • blew the footpath clear of leaves from the Pepper Mill / Bartholomew Road junction to the path off Lawley Village Green
  • blew leaves from the footpath by St Johns Church on Dawley Road
  • blew leaves from the footpath on the Wrekin Trundle
  • swept broken glass from the footpath at Lawley Primary School
  • cut brambles back from the hard standing area at St Saviours Close

PET WORK WEEK COMMENCING 9TH OCTOBER

Work was completed in the following areas:

  • Blew leaves and debris from around the croassing at Rock Road traffic lights
  • Blew leaves from the Route To School footpath at the rear of Newdale School
  • Blew leaves from the footpath from the M54 bridge to the Arleston Inn
  • Blew leaves from the footpath on Rock Road from Marlborough Way to the Overdale crossing
  • pruned shrubs back from the log roll border on West Centre Way at St Helier
  • Pruned back cotoneaster on the open space at Old Park
  • Pruned shrub beds at Old Park open space
  • cut back overgrowth from the steps off Ironbridge Way
  • cut back shrubs around the pond on Lawley Village Green
  • painted a wooden bench in the Community Garden
  • strimmed and blew the grass paths from Churchward Drive to Teawell Close
  • strimmed around the pond at Lawley Village Green
  • litter picked around the kissing gate between Lawley Village Green and the Playing Field
