Lawley 5K Fun Run 2021

What a day!

The Lawley 5K Fun Run kicked off at 1pm on 11 September 2021, and we were so pleased to see so many people take part.

Our partners at the Lawley Running Club and Bournville Village Trust worked hard with us to arrange a COVID-safe way to hold the run, and we’re pleased to say it all went without a hitch.

While it was a little different than previous years, as there weren’t any stalls, and we couldn’t offer food at the finish line, all entrants still received a medal and goody bag for taking part. We hope you all enjoyed yourselves despite the changes.

We managed to snap a few photographs and even get some (phone) video footage, though.

See if we caught you on camera!

Lawley 5K Fun Run. Raising funds for Telford MIND and West Mercia Search & Rescue. Sponsored by Morrisons, Foden Property, Persimmon, Barrett Homes, Lawley Pharmacy, Taylor Whimpey

The Fun Run this year followed the route shown in the map below.

Total money raised

The entry fee was £6, with all proceeds going to charity. This year, Lawley and Overdale Parish Council agreed to match-fund the amount raised, allowing the event to support two great charities – West Mercia Search and Rescue, and Telford MIND.

In total, just over £920 was raised for charity – the Lawley Running Club kindly rounded-up that figure to a full £1,000. With the Parish Council’s match-funding, that came to a total of £2,000, split equally between the two charities!

The cheques were formally presented to the charities at the Grazing Cow on 2 November 2021.
