On Sunday 7 May, we invite you to come and join us at Lawley Primary School’s sports field for the Lawley Coronation Carnival, in celebration of the coronation of King Charles III.

We’ll have a whole heap of activities going on for the event, with something for everybody to enjoy!
This event has been organised in partnership with the Lawley Partnership Board. We’d also like to thank Telford & Wrekin Council for supporting this event via the King’s Coronation Celebration Fund.

When and where?
There are two parts to the celebrations – the Coronation Parade, and the main Coronation Carnival.
Coronation Parade
The Coronation Parade will take place on Sunday 7 May 2023, from 12:30pm – 1pm. Representatives will begin to gather at 12:30pm, before beginning the parade at 12:45pm on Lawley Village Green (on the Monastery Close side, by the play area), from where it will make its way to Lawley Primary School.

Coronation Carnival
The main Coronation Carnival will take place on Sunday 7 May 2023 from 1pm – 4pm. It will be held on Lawley Primary School’s sports field.

PLEASE NOTE: As the Coronation Carnival is taking place on school property, no dogs, alcohol, or smoking/vaping will be permitted on-site.
What’s in store?
Coronation Parade
The Coronation Carnival will kick-start the whole carnival!
Representatives from myriad local organisations will be taking part in the Coronation Parade, which starts at 12:45pm (you may wish to get there early to see the start) at Lawley Village Green, and ends at 1pm in Lawley Primary School’s sports field.

Big Lunch
The whole day is a family picnic! Bring a picnic blanket, a hamper of food and drink, and take part in the Big Lunch!
Once you’re settled in, you can watch the festivities and take part in the activities below.
The Great Lawley Bake Off
On Sunday 7 May, we’ll be bringing the Bake Off to Lawley!
Everybody from the age of four and up is invited to take part and cook up some culinary delights, then have them judged to see who really is the greatest baker in the land! Winning bakers will be decided during the Coronation Carnival.

Stalls, face painters, and more
Throughout the Coronation Carnival there will be various stalls for you to browse, as well as FREE face painting services provided by Rainbow Faces.
And of course, we’ll have bouncy castles and other inflatables, as well as traditional fairground games!
We’ll also have music provided by Lawley Radio.
Some of the stalls that are confirmed to be in attendance include:
- Flambe Circus will be our resident ‘bubbleologist’ for the event!
- Superwhipped will be providing ice cream!
