Works on Lawley Village Green

There are to be some  works done on the Village Green where the trees on the perimeter are to thinned/pruned and any dead/diseased trees to be felled. The area around the pond will also have to be cut back in places ans some of the self-set trees be removed as they are 'choking' other species that are growing there. A large willow tree on the bank will have to be felled as the roots are causing the bank to be broken down and we do not want it to collapse. This will actually enhance the area and open up the space. The reed beds will be thinned out and the blanket weed removed. These works will take place early September once the nesting period is finished.
