TWC Notice re Highway Maintenance

Reactive Highway Maintenance Works – Routine Patching gang

We are trialling a slightly different approach to Reactive maintenance this year. Part of this approach involves the use of a fully equipped surfacing crew to repair sections of carriageways and footways identified by highway inspectors. The crew will be targeting sites which are not suitable for the traditional reactive maintenance gangs. Larger areas will be repaired using machinery to give a longer repair life which will improve efficiency and give a better quality repair.

This week our routine patching crew are focusing on dangerous defects in footways and parking areas in the following streets. Please note that these repairs are focused on small areas with severe defects that have been picked up by inspectors or raised as a customer enquiry. The gang will not treat all defects in these streets.

Brands Farm Way

Withywood Drive

Blakemore

Pageant Drive

Willowfield

Princes End

The work will consist of planing out and resurfacing damaged and worn out sections of carriageway and footway. To comply with health and safety legislation protecting operatives from moving traffic on roads, we will be using a variety of traffic management such as stop and go, traffic lights and emergency road closures where required for the duration of the works.

TWS, the contractor who will be undertaking these works and will deal with any special access requirements residents may have.
