The consortium of developers at Lawley Village have announced that construction work at the development will temporarily stop in order to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The consortium’s top priority is the health, safety and wellbeing of customers, employees and subcontractors and, although the latest Government guidance has not ordered the closure of construction or housebuilding sites, they are taking action because they believe it is the right thing to do.

We are in the process of closing down all operational phases of Lawley Village in a responsible manner. To ensure that the development is left safe and secure and to protect the health and safety of customers and the general public while it is closed, a small amount of essential works will be carried out. All employees and subcontractors will be sent home as soon as is practically possible and they have all received guidance on appropriate social distancing on site.

As a result of the temporary closure of the development, the mine shaft investigation works in phase 11, which were due to start on Monday 30th March, have been postponed until further notice.
