MEDIA RELEASE: Urgent Care Centres at RSH and PRH planned to relocate on Thursday 16 April

Lawley and Overdale Parish Council has received a media release issued by the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital (SaTH) NHS Trust.

It explains that due to demand caused by coronavirus, the Urgent Care Centres (UCC) at the Princess Royal Hospital (PRH), Telford and the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital (RSH) will be temporarily relocating to the Minor Injury Units in Whitchurch and Bridgnorth, to form two Urgent Treatment Centres (UTCs).

It stresses that people with major injuries and illnesses, such as head injuries and breathing difficulties, should continue to attend Accident and Emergency (A&E) as usual. A&E departments at both Princess Royal and Royal Shrewsbury hospitals will remain open and operational 24 hours a day.

The relocation will happen on Thursday 16 April. It is hoped that the changes will free-up capacity for people with more serious injuries and illnesses.
