Lawley and Overdale Parish Council has been advised that part of the Wharfage, Ironbridge road will be closed to weekend traffic for 21 days in June and July 2020, due to public safety concerns.
Telford & Wrekin Council (TWC) is placing this restriction due to public safety concerns regarding COVID-19 and social distancing. The closure will start on Saturday 20 June 2020; from then, sections of road in Ironbridge will be closed to traffic every Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 6pm. This is expected to last for 21 days, until Friday 10 July 2020.
TWC will review the situation and provide updates in case of changes.
The following sections of road will be affected:
- The Wharfage – between its junction with The Wharfage Car Park and its junction with Tontine Hill, Ironbridge.
- Tontine Hill – Ironbridge for its entire length.
- High Street – between its junction with Tontine Hill to its junction with High Street Roundabout, Ironbridge.
Signage and a diversion route will be posted on-site.
