Dual carriageway closures, July 2020

Telford & Wrekin Council has announced that routine dual carriageway closures are due to begin in Telford from 6 July. Sections of roads across Telford will be affected, including several in Lawley and Overdale Parish.

The routine dual carriageway environmental maintenance works will commence around Telford on 6 July 2020, and last until 27 July 2020. The majority of the work will be done under full road closures, though these will mostly be limited to night time closures to limit disruption.

The work will include:

  • Gully emptying
  • Grass cutting
  • Street light testing
  • Minor carriageway repairs
  • Litter picking
  • Hedge cutting
  • Tree felling
  • Vehicle barrier repairs
  • A variety of highway asset surveys.

A5223

A section of the A5223 will be closed between M54 junction 6, to Lawley Common Roundabout. The closure will take place on 19 July 2020, from 8am until 8pm. It will last for one day.

B5072

Two sections of the B5072 will be closed.

The first section is between West Centre Way, Lawley traffic lights, to Old Park Roundabout. The closure will take place on 26 July 2020, from 8am until 8pm. It will last for one day.

The second section is between Hall Park Way, Forge Roundabout to Hall Roundabout – lanes 2 only. The closure will take place on 27 July 2020, between 7pm and 7am. It will last for one day.
