White Ribbon UK’s annual event in Telford has been cancelled this year. Instead, the charity will be hosting a social media campaign throughout November.
The White Ribbon Campaign is a global movement encouraging men and boys to take a stand against domestic violence.
White Ribbon UK is the charity supporting the movement in Britain. Telford & Wrekin has been a White Ribbon-accredited town since 2013. At the end of 2019, Telford’s White Ribbon status was extended by another three years.
25 November is White Ribbon Day, which was when the charity was due to hold its annual event.
The coronavirus pandemic has forced the charity to cancel the live event, but White Ribbon Telford & Wrekin is now hosting a social media campaign on Facebook instead.
Running from 9 November to the 25 November, the campaign will include various talks and videos from advocates, police, and other people involved in the movement.
You can follow the White Ribbon Telford & Wrekin social media campaign on the group’s Facebook page.
