Councillors’ Pride Fund 2020 awarded for a new noticeboard in Old Park

Lawley and Overdale Parish Council has been awarded a grant from the Councillors’ Pride Fund 2020, after being nominated by Councillor Mark Boylan.

Pride in our Community - Councillors' Pride FundThe Councillors’ Pride Fund is a local grant scheme run by Telford & Wrekin Council (TWC), in which each ward councillor in the borough is provided with £2,000 to spend on projects within their wards.

£1,000 is intended to be spent on environmental projects, with the remaining £1,000 to be spent on projects which support the “five ways to health and wellbeing”. These are ‘connect’, ‘be active’, ‘take notice’, ‘keep learning’ and ‘give’.

Lawley and Overdale Parish Council was kindly nominated by Councillor Mark Boylan, Ward Councillor for Ketley & Overdale.

The nomination was successful, and the £490 grant was used to purchase a new community noticeboard at Old Park, Telford. This replaces an older notice board that was too small for the growing parish.

A blue notice board, with a glass front and the words "Lawley & Overdale Parish Council" printed in white on the top.

The new noticeboard is now installed in Old Park.
