Telford & Wrekin Council is asking young people – what could you do with £500? Young people aged 15 to 25 have the chance to apply for a grant until 23 July.
Open to people aged between 15 and 25 years old, the grant can be used for a wide range of things, such as a new laptop, tools for a job or business, books for a course, uniform or interview clothes, or even just transport.
According to Telford & Wrekin Council, “the scheme is open to young people who have a desire to commence in or return to education, employment, and training, but due to their [or their] family’s circumstances, are restricted or unable to fund the activity themselves.”
You can apply for the grant once a year. If you are unsuccessful, you can apply again the next year. If you are successful, you can apply again in three years.
You must be aged between 15 and 25, and a resident of Telford & Wrekin, to apply.
The application deadline for 2021 is 5pm 23 July.
If you do not have access to a computer, you can call 01952 384294 or 01952 383220. Alternatively, you can ask a member of staff at your local library.
