Following her election in the Lawley Ward by-election in July, Cathy Salter signed her Acceptance of Office this week and is now a councillor for Lawley and Overdale Parish Council.
Councillor Salter fills the position left by former councillor Mike Tyler, who resigned from his role earlier in the year. Lawley and Overdale Parish Council would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr Tyler for his contributions during his time with us.
Councillor Salter is a resident of Lawley who works in the healthcare sector, and has an interest in improving road safety for residents.
“I have lived in Lawley for 10 years, with my husband Rob, three adult children, and two rescue cats,” Councillor Salter said. “I work as a Healthcare Assistant at the Princess Royal Hospital.
“I love living in Lawley and Overdale, and want to be a residents’ voice on the council. I am already a community Speedwatch volunteer, and I want greater road safety for our area.
“I am a member of the Liberal Democrats because I believe in personal freedom and a collective responsibility to each other. I’m a Street Champion and care about the environment, and would like improved bus services for a safer, greener way to travel.
“My hobbies include walking, history, baking and wine!”
Everybody at Lawley and Overdale Parish Council welcomes Councillor Salter to the team, and we look forward to working with her.
