PSA testing event

The Shropshire Prostate Cancer Support Group (SPCSG) is hosting another prostate-specific antigen (PSA) testing event at Lawley Community Centre in June, and is inviting all men over the age of 40 to come down and receive their free test.

Shropshire Prostate Cancer Support GroupThe SPCSG is a charity that offers non-medical support to men who are worried about prostate cancer, or who have the disease. They host regular PSA testing events around the county.

PSA tests are a blood test used to screen for indicators of prostate cancer. The results are quick, and they can help inform people if they are at-risk and need to seek further medical advice. Prostate cancer affects 45,000 men each year, and detecting it early on can save lives.

Lawley and Overdale Parish Council has supported these events for the past few years, and we are proud to do so again. This year we have contributed £3,500 towards the running costs of the event, and we urge all eligible men to register and get themselves tested! Previous events have been very successful, and helped to identify many at-risk people.

This year’s free PSA testing event will take place at Lawley Community Centre on Monday 26 June 2023, from 6pm until 9pm.

Unfortunately, the 26 June PSA testing event is now fully-booked. You can check the My PSA Tests website for other events in the area, though.

If you can’t make the Lawley Community Centre event, you can also find other events around the county on the My PSA Tests website.
