Christmas & New Year collections
Just a reminder to check your calendar carefully for your revised collection days over Christmas and New Year so as you don’t get caught out and miss a collection.
If your collection day is due on Christmas Day (25 December), this will be brought forward to Saturday 23 December.
All other collections will be a day later. For full details of the revised collections click here.
All collections will return to normal Monday 8 January 2018.
In the event of bad weather we will prioritise collecting the red top bins and purple top bins only; green bins and blue bags just need to be popped out again on the next scheduled collection. |
Household Recycling Centres opening hours
|
|
Your Household Recycling Centres (HRCs) will be open daily over the festive period, apart from Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
Not sure how busy they will be? Our HRCs have a live feed camera at the entrance, so you can ‘view the queue’ before setting off.
Before you visit also check our website to see if you require a permit to access the HRC in the vehicle you are using (some vehicles are also excluded from visiting the HRCs).
If you do require a permit, please note that paper permits are no longer provided. All applications are now electronic. Register for an e-permit through My Telford. Once requested, you will receive an email immediately with more information on how to use it. |
Christmas recycling tips & info
Real Christmas trees can be chopped up and placed in your green bin for recycling; green bins will be collected as normal.
If you have lots of cardboard, please cut or tear into pieces the size of your blue bag and secure together. Please present at the side of your purple bin.
We cannot take Christmas cards/paper with glitter, plastic or metallic coating.
