First section of new footbridge to be lifted into place
One of Europe’s largest cranes will be arriving in Telford from Wednesday, June 27 to lift the first section of the new footbridge into place.
As a result, a number of road closures and diversions will be necessary – including the A442 – also known as the Queensway/Eastern Primary
Businesses in Telford are being asked to look carefully at the closures to help minimise the impact on operations and to help ease congestion around peak travel times.
Traffic management arrangements for a temporary road closure along A442 Queensway, Telford Town Centre between the Greyhound Roundabout and Hollinswood Interchange including slip roads onto the A442 Queensway.
Balfour Beatty on behalf of Telford and Wrekin Council are planning to undertake works as part of the footbridge replacement project. The work is set to commence on Wednesday 27th June 2018 and will last for a duration of 7 days with an end date of Tuesday 3rd July 2018.
The diversion routes for vehicular traffic travelling in all directions will be as per below plan.
