Lawley and Overdale Parish Council has been awarded a grant from the Councillors’ Pride Fund 2020, after being nominated by Councillor Jacqui Seymour.

Pride in our Community - Councillors' Pride FundThe Councillors’ Pride Fund is a local grant scheme run by Telford & Wrekin Council (TWC), in which each ward councillor in the borough is provided with £2,000 to spend on projects within their wards. £1,000 is intended to be spent on environmental projects with the remaining £1,000 to be spent on projects which support the “five ways to health and wellbeing”. These are ‘connect’, ‘be active’, ‘take notice’, ‘keep learning’ and ‘give’.

Lawley and Overdale Parish Council was nominated by Councillor Jacqui Seymour, Ward Councillor for Wrockwardine. Both Councillors Seymour and Jayne Greenaway have contributed, and the Parish Council will be match-funding their contributions.

The money will be spent on the purchase and plantation of several additional trees on Lawley Village Green, and wild flower beds near the Village Green pond.

The trees planted will be picked from one (or several) of the following species:

It is planned that the trees will be purchased and planted by the end of March 2021.
