People walking through Lawley Village Green this week may notice that a new arrival has taken root. A new elm tree has been planted in the Village Green, not far from the clock.
Thanks to funding provided by Councillors Jayne Greenaway and Jacqui Seymour, the new elm tree arrived at the Village Green yesterday, where it was planted by Telford & Wrekin Council’s Trees and Woodland Officer.
Elm trees like this can grow to heights of 30 metres, and with proper care can live for over a century, so this new addition will hopefully be a feature of the Village Green for generations.
For now though, it’s still small, young, and needs a little support.
