On 15 September 2021 the Senior Citizens Forum will be changing its name and branding to “Forum 50+”, the charity has announced.
The Senior Citizens Forum is a local charity that provides support and information to elderly people in the Telford & Wrekin area. Their services include a befriending scheme to tackle loneliness, regular events, a newsletter to keep people informed, and computer training programmes.
The new name has been chosen as the charity felt that the term ‘senior citizens’ has become “outdated”.
“We felt it was time to give our name an update,” said Chris Fox, Forum Co-ordinator. “We wanted to ensure everybody knows that we are relevant and open to people of all ages over 50.”
As part of the name change, many of the Senior Citizens Forum’s contact details will be changing after 15 September – though for the time being the existing details will continue to work.
