Forum 50+ Telford

Forum 50+ Telford is a local charity that supports people over the age of 50 in Telford and Wrekin to find new connections, sources of support and regular social activities, whilst helping to maintain health and wellbeing, and independence.

Previously know as the Senior Citizens Forum, Forum 50+ Telford has been launched following Lottery Funding. The funding will go towards projects such as befriending services, computer teaching and other initiatives to help people to leave their homes following last year’s restrictions as a result of the pandemic.

Chairman Dave Wright said “We wanted to ensure everybody knows that people at all ages over 50 can benefit from our new National Lottery funded project which started in September”.

The charity, which now has over 2,300 members, aims to tackle loneliness, and isolation, and to help people feel better supported.

There are also opportunities to undertake volunteering and to assist with highlighting the needs and concerns of older people to address inequality.

Membership is free for residents of Telford and Wrekin who are 50 years of age or over, their carers or families. This also includes those who have an interest or involvement with older people.

As a member you will receive the free Forum magazine every two months, which includes information on events, consultations, news and activities.
