Improvements around the parish

Our Parish Environmental Team (PET), as part of the Community Action Team (CAT), was out and about at Dawley Bank, Telford town centre, and The Rock last week, doing a bit of routine maintenance and repairs.

We also took some snaps of our community garden to celebrate the start of spring!

First stop? Dawley Bank! Specifically the Old Office Road, where the kerb around the parking bays was disappearing under a mass of weeds. Not for much longer after our PET operative was done with it, though!

Next up was West Centre Way. The grass verge near the Thomas Telford School roundabout had sustained some damage from a vehicle driving across it. Our PET operative turned the deep grooves into flat (albeit muddy) soil, and hopefully nobody will be able to notice once the grass grows back.

Finally, our PET operative dealt with a landslide in The Rock! Well, some soggy soil from the shrub bed had poured onto the adjacent footpath between The Brambles and Broom Drive, anyway. A spot of shovelling later, and you could hardly tell anything had happened.

News just in – spring has begun in Lawley and Overdale parish! There have been several reported sightings of flowers sprouting in the Lawley Community Garden. It is anticipated that more will follow, and evidence suggests that the days are getting longer too. Much as they do every year. We will report more on this story as it develops.

Our PET operative is always out and about working on problems like this in the parish. Please let us know if you find any spots that need work!
