Borough response to the cost-of-living crisis

Telford & Wrekin Council (TWC) has launched a series of guides and grants designed to help residents and organisations in the borough during the cost-of-living crisis.

The Cost of Living Support Hub includes advice and help for residents with applying for different kinds of benefits, ways to help take care of your mental health, possible discounts on bills, money-saving guides, information on community grants available from different organisations, and more.

You can access the Cost of Living Support Hub on the TWC website.

As part of the Council’s response to the cost-of-living crisis, it has also launched a new community grant scheme.

The scheme is aimed at local voluntary and community groups, town and parish councils, and schools.

“The money will be available for organisations to keep their settings open over the winter period to provide a welcoming, warm place for people to visit, eat and take part in social activities, bringing our communities together at this difficult time”, said a TWC representative.

Organisations can apply for up to £5,000, and have until Sunday 6 November 2022 to submit their applications.

Full grant criteria and how to apply can be found on the TWC website.
