Lawley and Overdale Parish Council are encouraging residents to come together later this month for a community litter pick as part of the Great British Spring Clean.
The parish council has joined the national campaign run by Keep Britain Tidy and will host a community litter pick on Sunday 22 March 2026 from 10:30am to 12noon starting at the Parish Office (Leonard Smith House, Unit 2, West Centre Way, Lawley, Telford, TF3 5HT).
Volunteers of all ages are welcome and all litter picking equipment will be provided.
The event is a great way for residents to make an immediate, visible difference in their local area while meeting neighbours and getting some fresh air.
Mark Boylan, Chair of Lawley and Overdale Parish Council, said: “We’re thrilled to be part of the Great British Spring Clean this year. The litter pick is a fantastic way for our community to come together and take pride in where we live.
“Every effort helps towards making the area a place we can all be proud of. Even a short amount of time can make a real impact.
“We’d love to see a strong turnout on the day with residents of all ages getting involved. Let’s show what the parish can achieve when we work together.”
The Great British Spring Clean is the UK’s largest mass-action environmental campaign and takes place from Friday 13 to Sunday 29 March across the UK.
Since launching the campaign in 2016, more than 4.5 million bags of litter have been pledged for collection, with hundreds of thousands of volunteers taking part last year.
