Truth Project ‘Telford will be heard’ – how we can help raise awareness
The Council has welcomed the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse’s decision last month to bring the Truth Project to Telford that will allow victims and survivors of child sexual abuse to have their voices and concerns heard.
The Truth Project, which is part of the Inquiry, gives victims and survivors of child sexual abuse the opportunity to share their experience of abuse with a trained facilitator in a confidential setting. They can share as much or as little information as they feel comfortable with and suggest measures that might protect children from sexual abuse in the future. There is more information at www.truthproject.org.uk
The project is due in Telford in May and June and has begun contacting some council services seeking support.
The aim of the campaign is for people to get in touch with them, ideally online www.truthproject.org.uk or by telephone 0800 917 1000 (weekdays 8am to 8pm, Saturday 10am to 12pm).
Once the contact has been made, then dates and times will be given to all those who would like to speak to someone.
