We have received several reports regarding the traffic lights at Lawley crossroads causing issues with traffic backing up Arleston Lane as the lights are only allowing 3-4 cars through when on green. Also reported was the traffic coming into Lawley from the M54 island down Lawley Drive are overlapping with the Arleston Lane traffic by 8-10 seconds when both lights are on green which is obviously potentially very dangerous. The lights on West Centre Way are also causing problems and all of these issues have been reported to Highways at TWC to be rectified today. If you have any concerns or notice any malfunctions then please let us know.

Works on Lawley Village Green
There are to be some works done on the Village Green where the trees on the perimeter are to thinned/pruned and any dead/diseased trees to be felled. The area around the pond will also have to be cut back in places ans some of the self-set trees be removed as they are 'choking' other species that are growing there. A large willow tree on the bank will have to be felled as the roots are causing the bank to be broken down and we do not want it to collapse. This will actually enhance the area and open up the space. The reed beds will be thinned out and the blanket weed removed. These works will take place early September once the nesting period is finished.

Lawley Village Green Pond – Update
We are pleased to report that the water level in the pond has now been restored and the fault lay in the hands of Severn Trent water. It transpires that when they were undertaking works in Glendale recently that a valve was turned off but never turned back on! They did not know where the supply went to so had waited for a complaint re low water/no water to be made – at least it has now been rectified!
