Yesterday (14 November) we held the Lawley and Overdale Community Act of Remembrance, and we were happy to see so many residents turn up to honour the memories of the fallen.
We think it went well, and we hope that everybody in attendance found the service moving and respectful.
We would like to thank our wreath layers from Lawley Primary School, Lawley Village Academy, 1st Lawley Brownies, West Mercia Police, the Veterans’ Breakfast Club, and the Lawley Scouts Group. We’d also like to thank our guest speaker, Paul Curran, and Ivor Evans for playing The Last Post and The Reveille.
We would also like to thank Councillors Jayne Greenaway, Cathy Salter, and John Yorke for their readings.
If you weren’t able to attend, you can take a look at the original page to see what the Community Act of Remembrance to download a programme.
