Parish Lamppost Poppies

The Parish Council  are supporting the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal again this year by putting up over 200 lamppost poppies across the Parish. Thank you to Bob of the Parish Environmental Team who will be out in all weathers to put the poppies up.

COMMUNITY ACT OF REMEMBRANCE

Following the Dedication Ceremony held for the new War Memorial, we are pleased to announce that the Parish Council will be holding a Community Remembrance Service on Sunday 10th November 2019 at 1.30pm at the new Memorial  which you are invited to attend.

We do not have sufficient time to organise a full parade this year but have begun working on this for forthcoming years.

The service will be non-religious and incorporate suitable poetry, music and the traditional reveille, two minute silence and last post.

There are a number of service/ex-service personnel and families in the Parish along with relatives of those recorded on the Roll of Honour and we would be delighted if some of you would like to read the poetry and take part in the Service.

Please contact the Parish Clerk clerk@lawleyoverdale.org.uk  if you are interested in doing this.

We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on the day.
