Work was completed in the following areas:

  • Removed a fly tipped child’s paddling pool from Arleston Lane
  • Removed a broken car headlight from the middle of Dawley Road
  • Blew debris from the alleyway at Glendale leading to the Village Green
  • Blew debris from the footpath around Glendale bus stop
  • Blown leaves from the footpath from Bartholomew Road to Lawley Village Green
  • Blew debris from the footpath from Park Road to Cemetery Road
  • Blown debris from the footpath in front of the Cemetery on Cemetery Road
  • Swept up broken glass from the road at Old Park island
  • Trimmed the long hedge in the Community Garden
  • Pruned back around the entrance to Lawley Playing Fields from Glendale
  • Replaced the worn No 15 History Trail marker just off the Ironbridge Way in Newdale
  • Cut back lavender in Lawley Community Garden
  • Cut ivy from the base of trees on Old Park Village Green
  • Strimmed around the old tram bridge in Newdale
  • Strimmed behind railings at the footbridge over West Centre Way,
  • Blew debris from the footpath from West Centre Way footbridge to St Heliers
  • Strimmed and litter picked the fence line on the footpath on Milners Lane opposite the Co-op
  • Strimmed and litter picked around the two bus stops on Station Road
  • Following a request from a resident pruned the side of the hedge overhanging the footpath to the side of Co-op on Milners Lane to allow better wheelchair access
  • Pruned overhang from the footpath top of Ironbridge Way on Dawley Road
  • Collected shrubs and bedding plants from Priorslee Garden Centre ready for planting at the war memorial site
  • Cleaned out and replanted the planters in the Community Garden with new bedding and watered in
  • Planted new plants on the hard standing area near Lawley War Memorial

  • Swept up broken glass from the footpath at the front of the Grazing Cow pub
  • Cut up and removed a fallen tree branch from Hill Road, Overdale
  • Swept up broken glass from the kerb edge on Milners Lane
  • Sprayed weeds on the bridle way off Rock Road
  • Removed an abandoned shopping trolley from Bellpit Open space
  • Removed broken glass from around the gate onto Lawley playing fields

  • Removed five abandoned shopping trolleys- one Sainsburys, two Dunelm, one Asda, one B&Q- from the footpath at the rear of Sainsburys towards Old Park
  • Hard pruned around the signpost at the entrance to St Heliers
  • Removed a rotted off Royal Mail grey box on the grass verge at the entrance to St Heliers
  • hard pruned willow tree overhanging the footpath on Lawley Drive
  • Pruned back overhanging brambles from Lawley Drive near the main traffic lights
  • Cleared brambles in the orchard area on Lawley Community Garden
  • Dead headed roses and mowed and edged around the rose bed and herb bed in Lawley Community Garden
  • Mowed around the bridleway entrance off West Centre Way at the rear of the Grazing Cow
  • Removed a fly tip of household rubbish from Rock Road bus stop
  • Removed a fly tip of car parts from the grass area at Cedar Close, Overdale

  • Pruned back around West Centre Way footbridge to St Heliers
  • Weeded and blew debris from the footpath on Dawley Road motorway bridge
  • Scraped weeds and moss from the kerb edge on Arleston Lane near the M54 bridge,
  • Pruned back overhang from the footpath on West Centre Way
  • Cleaned up broken glass off Rock Road near the entrance to Overdale
  •  Pruned back overgrowth to improve the sight line coming out of the junction at Blackbird Close, Overdale
  • Removed a small fly tip – pushchair and child’s ride on toy – from Overdale playing fields
  • Removed a fly tip from the drainage pools on the proposed  football pitches site at Overdale
  • Sprayed weeds at Old Park shrub bed around the pond
  • Strimmed around the pond at Lawley Village Green
  • Blew debris from the footpath around Glendale bus stop
  • Strimmed the sight line and fence line, and blew debris from the footpath at the entrance to the Public Right of Way near Rock Road traffic lights
  • Strimmed back brambles and nettles and blew debris from the path on the school route around Marlborough Way junction
  • Strimmed brambles back off the path edge and blew debris from the footpath by the traffic lights on West Centre Way
  • Strimmed the grass area at the rear of the garages on Cemetery Road
  • Strimmed around the entrance gate and stile on the footpath to to Charlecote Park from the Ironbridge Way
  • Checked the Lawley Fun Run route and removed litter and brambles
  •  Cut down two dead trees, weeded tree bases and tidied up for the Lawley Fun Run start and finish on the hardstanding area near the new War Memorial
  • Cut back brambles in Grove Road alleyway to the Rock Road underpass
  • Removed a fly tip from Princes End play area – large branches and a corrugated metal sheet

DAWLEY ROAD PROPOSED SAFETY SCHEME – PUBLIC CONSULTATION

Following a long campaign by residents and the Parish Council for additional road safety measures on Dawley Road in Lawley, Telford & Wrekin Council are now planning to implement safety improvements.
