PET WORK WEEK COMMENCING 5TH AUGUST

Work was completed in the following areas:

  • cut back overgrowth from the footpath at the old tram bridge
  • removed a dumped ASDA trolley from the bridleway off Rock Road
  • replaced a drain cover that had been moved in Cedar Close
  • cut back overhanging branches from the footpath near Old Park pool
  • Mowed the verges on the Wrekin Way behind Newdale School
  • Mowed around the edges of the bridleway off West Centre Way
  • Mowed the edges of the Bridle Way in Newdale
  • Cut the grass at Prince’s End car park
  • Sprayed weeds on Wrekin Way at the rear of Newdale School
  • Sprayed weeds around the old tram bridge and the steps up to Ironbridge Way
  • Sprayed weeds around the footbridge on the Wrekin Way to Arleston Lane
  • Sprayed weeds on the footpath from Bartholomew Road to Lawley Village Green
  • Sprayed weeds on the path edges on the Wrekin Trundle
  • Sprayed weeds on the footbridge from West Centre Way to St Heliers
  • Sprayed weeds in the alleyway between Hill Fold and Cemetery Road
  • Sprayed weeds around the steps at Acer Close
  • Cut back overgrowth from around the history trail marker on Dawley Road
  • Removed temporary footpath signs on Dawley Road that hadn’t been collected
  • Cut back brambles from the footpath outside the BT offices to the Ladygrove entrance on Old Office Road
  • Weeded around Lawley Village Green clock tower
  • Pruned shrubs around Lawley pond
  • Picked up a discarded contractors guard barrier from the bottom of Rock Road
  • Cut back brambles from the footpath through Grove Road alleyway
  • tidied up the herb bed and rose bed, and weeded in the Lawley Community Garden
  • Sprayed weeds in the alleyway between No 11 – 19 Cedar Close that had been missed by sub-contractors
  • Sprayed weeds along the wall line from No 34 – 52 Ercall View and the steps that had been missed by sub-contractors
  • Sprayed weeds on the sight line from The Rock opposite Di’s Dog Grooming
  • Moved the SID from Garfield Road to Dawley Road
  • Painted both benches on Old Park Village Green
  • Assisted with a litter pick on the play area at the Caravan Site off Dawley Road
  • Removed a dumped Dunelm trolley from Colliers Way
  • Scraped moss and blew clear of debris on the footpath from St Helier to Teawell Close

  • cut back brambles from the footpath by Lawley Drive traffic lights
  • cut back brambles on the footbridge leading to the community garden
  • painted the bench at Lawley Circle
  • cut back brambles over the footpath  at the rear of Newdale Pool
  • cut brambles from the path across West Centre Way
  • cut back overgrowth from the entrance to the footpath from Ironbridge Way to the old tram bridge
  • cut back ferns from the footpath behind Charlecote Park  to Overdale traffic lights
  • removed a small fly tip from Cedar Close
  • picked up broken plastic from the path at Hill Fold alley way
  • swept up broken glass from the footpath at Cedar Close
  • cut back the sight line at Rock Road junction
  • cut brambles back from the footpath at The Rock
  • cut brambles back from the steps at Acer Close
  • swept up broken glass off the footpath at the bottom of Park Road
  • cut back overhang from the Princes End road sign
  • cut back overgrowth from the path top on the Ironbridge Way at the Dawley Road end
  • removed low branches from across the path at the entrance to Bellpit Open Space
  • cut grass at the entrance to to Bellpit Open Space
  • cut the grass at the side of the Rock Road bridleway
  • cut the grass on Wrekin Trundle
  • cut back overhang from the path on Ironbridge Way at the Overdale end
  • swept up broken glass from the bus stop on Colliers Way
  • fitted a new padlock to the entrance gate on Ironbridge Way off Rock Road after the existing one was stolen
  • cut back brambles from the footpath on Wrekin Trundle

Following a well deserved 10 day holiday work was completed in the following areas:

  • Brambles cut back from the path around Old Park pond
  • Brambles cut back  from the footpath on Old Office Road near the BT Office
  • Brambles cut back from the footpath on Wrekin Trundle
  • Removed a dumped Tesco trolley from Arleston Lane
  • Removed 3 fly tipped boxes from Lawley Village Green
  • Cut back brambles from the Wrekin Way footpath at the rear of Newdale School
  • Cut back brambles and self seeded saplings around the footpath by the old tram bridge
  • removed 3 fly tipped bags of household rubbish from Cemetery Road
  • cut back brambles from the footpath along the Bridleway off Rock Road
  • cut back brambles  from the footpath at the entrance to Marlborough Way
  • cut back brambles growing out of the hedge across the footpath on Dawley Road
  • dead headed the roses in the large bed at Lawley Community Garden
  • cut back brambles from the footpath in the alley way off Grove Road
  • cut back brambles from the footpath between Park Road and Cemetery Road

  • Removed signs left up on Lawley Village Green after the Summer Fest event
  • Cut back overhang from the grass verge on Lawley Drive at Lawley Gate
  • Cut back brambles off West Centre Way footpath
  • Cut back brambles from around the entrance to Rock Road bridleway
  • Tidied around the shrub beds at Old Park pond
  • Removed fly tipped garden waste from Wakeley Drive
  • Swept up glass from the junction of Milners Lane and Cemetery Road
  • Pruned back overhang from the footpath leading to the footbridge on West Centre Way
  • Pruned back overhang from the wall line by the cemetery to Hill Fold
  • Removed 2 abandoned shopping trolleys from the trees adjacent to the footpath at the rear of Old Park pond
  • Pruned around the shrub beds on Old Park Open Space
  • Cut back brambles from Wrekin Trundle
  • Removed a fly tip of household waste from the grass verge at Cedar Close
  • Sprayed weeds and blew debris from the wall line at the front of St Johns Church Lawley

LAWLEY BUS SERVICE CHANGES

We have been notified by ARRIVA that following customer feedback the bus services for Lawley will be changing with effect from 1st September.

The main changes are:

  • The 11 is being extended to serve Wrekin Retail Park (for Tesco as the Free Bus is being withdrawn) and Wellington. The route will also now extend the full length of Birchfield Way and Bryce Way. It will also provide better links for commuters to Wrekin Rail Station.
  • The X4 route is being extended to operate through Lawley to  provide a more direct route to Telford College and schools in Wellington
  • The 19 is being extended to travel the full length of Bryce Way and Proctor Avenue.
