PET Work week commencing 28th November

Work was completed in the following areas:

  • Footbridges at West Centre Way and Lawley Gate gritted
  • Leaves blown from the Wrekin Trundle footpath
  • Broken fencing removed from Old Park Way
  • Leaves blown from the footpath by St John’s Church and around the bus stop
  • Alleyway off Rock Road scraped, leaves blown and laurel hedge cut back
  • Road and dog fouling signs cleaned in Lawley
  • Paths blown and rose bed pruned in Tom Morgan Garden
  • Leaves blown from Glendale Circle
  • Parish Council History Trail signs cleaned
  • Two paths at the rear of Churchward Drive cleared of overgrowth
  • Fly tip on the bridleway off Rock Road partially removed and larger items reported to TWC for removalphoto0601photo0602

PET Work week commencing 21st November

  • removed debris from an illegal bonfire on the grass verge off Colliers Way
  • pruned the hedge on Rock Road by the entrance to Overdale
  • pruned trees on the green space between Dawley Bank and St Heliers
  • cut back overgrowth rom the verge and footpath between Glendale and Arleston Lane which was obscuring road signs
  • cut back overgrowth around Cedar Close, Overdale
  • pruned along Old Park Way and cleared leaves from the footpath

PET Work week commencing 14th November

The team spent Monday of this week removing over 130 poppies  from lampposts following Remembrance Day.

Work was also completed in the following areas:photo0563 photo0565

  • Cleared moss and leaves from the steps on the footpath to the rear of Acer Close and edged 34 steps with wire to make them safer during winter weather
  • Scraped and cleared the footpath on Arleston Lane
  • Pruned the hedge from  the corner of Marlborough Way  along Rock Road and cleared leaves and moss from the length of the hedge

PET work week commencing 7th November

The team spent most of this week putting poppies on over 130 lampposts around Lawley in support of the residents “Sponsor A Poppy” Appeal.

However work was also completed in the following areas:photo0559 photo0561

  • Pruning around Glendale Circle to improve the sight line for traffic
  • Putting wire on the steps at Acer Close
  • Clearing leaves from paths on Rock Road, Bartholomew Road, Glendale Circle, Milners Lane and Park Road
  • Putting dog fouling signs on the paths to the rear of Newdale School
  • Pruned and mowed along the bridleway between Churchward Drive and the rear of Newdale School
  • Pruning on West Centre Way

lawley-signThe Parish Council are proud to have helped local resident Sheila Slaney achieve her goal of putting up poppies around Lawley in support of the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. Thank you to Rob & Josh of the Parish Environmental Team who have braved all weathers to put the poppies on lampposts across Lawley.

The poppies are being sponsored by Lawley residents and all donations will go to the Poppy Appeal. If you wish to sponsor a poppy you can bring your donations to the Parish Office in Lawley Square or post an envelope through the door containing your name, address and donation outside office opening hours.
