PET WORK WEEK COMMENCING 29th MAY

Following the Bank Holiday work was completed in the following areas:

  • Weeds sprayed around the car park at Princes End
  • watering of the shrub bed, herb bed and raised beds at the Community Garden
  • Weeds sprayed at Old Park shrub bed and steps
  • Wildflower seeds sown in the Community Garden
  • Fly tip removed from Ironbridge Way
  • overhanging shrubs cut back from the footpath and traffic signs at Mossey Green Way
  • nails sticking out from fencing on Rock Road at the kissing gate made safe
  • overhanging branches and rose bushes cut back from the footpath on West Centre Way behind Thomas Telford School
  • strimmed and weeded around the Community Garden
  • cut back overhanging branches on Rock Road to improve the sight line for traffic
  • strimmed along the fence at the top of West Centre Way by St Heliers
  • reduced the height of shrubs in Dawley Bank and litter picked and weeded the shrub bed
  • mowed along the bridleway off Rock Road
  • sprayed weeds and strimmed around the gate  at the top of the Ironbridge Way
  • removed debris from Dawley Road

 

PET WORK WEEK COMMENCING 22ND MAY

Work was completed in the following areas:

  • bird boxes put up on Lawley Village Green, Old Park Roundabout and West Centre Way Roundabout
  • Cornus pruned from the roadside at Old Park Way
  • broken branches removed from West Centre Way
  • Churchward Drive and Teawell Close path pruned
  • Acer Close steps sprayed
  • Plants watered in the Community Garden
  • Pruned privet hedging on Pepper Mill and in front of Lawley Primary School
  • bark swept back into the shrub bed at Old Park pool
  • grass strimmed around the car park at Princes End and the kerb scraped clean
  • strimmed under the hedge along Rock Road to Marlborough Way
  • strimmed around the metal barriers at Arleston Lane motorway bridge
  • grass bank strimmed at Village Drive
  • Glendale Circle sprayed and weeded
  • bark swept back in to the shrub bed at Dawley Bank
  • strimmed around the bin at Cemetery Rod
  • litter picked, trimmed and sprayed the alleyway at Hill Fold

PET WORK WEEK COMMENCING 15TH MAY

Work was completed in the following areas:

  • debris cleared from wildflower beds in Overdale and Lawley and raked ready for planting
  • new plants planted in the Community Garden
  • removed all tree stakes from trees on Lawley Drive
  • broken knee rail removed from entrance to Marlborough Way
  • steps at Acer Close open space strimmed and blown clear of debris
  • the area around the knee rail strimmed on Lawley Village Green
  • pruned around the street sign at Princes End
  • pruned hedge back on Arleston footbridge
  • cleared broken glass from Rock Road at the junction with Colliers Way
  • mowed around the herb bed and path edge on the Community Garden
  • mowed and strimmed the bridleways at the top of Churchward Drive
  • mowed the bridleway at Rock Road
  • mowed and strimmed the path at the rear of Newdale School
  • mowed and strimmed the Wrekin Trundle path
  • removed a fly tipped mattress from Arleston Lane

Lawley Gate Project

In partnership with Dawley Hamlets Parish Council the PET Team have completed a project to weed and clean the brickwork on the Parish Boundary

PET Work week commencing 8th MAY

In addition to a major project at Lawley Gate, carried out jointly with Dawley Hamlets Parish Council PET Team (see PET Update pages), work was completed in the following areas:

  • litter picking in the Community Garden
  • planting up the flowerbed in the Community Garden
  • hedgerow pruned and briers cut back from Bartholomew Road to Lawley Village Green
  • Cut back overgrown hedges affecting the sight line at the roundabout at the top of West Centre Way
  • Cleared weeds and moss from the hardstanding at St Saviour, Lawley Bank
  • removed a fly tip from Arleston Lane
  • Replaced vandalised History Trail marker signs
